The government of China is planning to invest around $5 billion in a private equity fund in Africa, WorldStage reports. A major part of the Chinese government’s investment may be targeted at shares of some Nigerian enterprises.

The private equity fund will be administered by the China-Africa Development Fund. The country has set aside the funds to increase its investment in developing economies.
