South Korea’s Kumho Petrochemical is planning to invest $837 million in new plants in Yeosu, Platts reports. Kumho Petrochemical will build a solution-polymerized styrene-butadiene-rubber plant and its subsidiary Kumho Polychem intends to build an ethylene propylene diene monomer rubber plant by 2014. Kumho P&B Chemicals will build a bisphenol-A plant, while Kumho Mitsui Chemicals plans to build a methylene diphenyl diisocyanate plant. The company did not disclose the investment plan for each plant.
