The governments of East African nations are seeking to create a regional commodity exchange, The Standard reports. The East African Community (EAC) and U.S. consultancy Nicolas Berggruen Institute are in talks to set up the market. The proposed bourse is expected to cut costs of transactions, develop information flow and improve returns to market participants. The move comes at a stage when similar efforts in Kenya have taken a back seat.
