The East African Community (EAC) is planning to launch a common commodity exchange, Business Daily Africa reports. International consultancy Nicolas Berggruen Institute (NBI) will help create the facility.
The proposed commodity exchange market is expected to be a public-private partnership arrangement. A common commodity market for the region will help increase growers’ earnings and availability of food.
