State-run Tehri Hydro Development Corporation (THDC) has secured a $648 million loan from the World Bank, The Hindu reports. The company intends to use the proceeds to fund a power project in Uttarakhand, India. The credit facility includes $638 million for the project and $10 million as the capacity building and institutional strengthening component. The loan will also be used to build a tailrace tunnel.
